Relationship between components of tourism destination and tourists' decision making: A case study in Chachoengsao Province
Abstract:
The purpose of this independent study was to investigate relationship
between components of tourism destination and tourists decision making to travel in
Chachoengsao province. The research was conducted in quantitative approach and the
questionnaire was developed as a tool for collecting data from 400 Thais tourists
revisiting Chachoengsao province. SPSS program, descriptive statistics and multiple
regression were used to analyze the data.
The result revealed that most of the respondents were female, aged between
18-30 years. They were single and mostly had a bachelors degree diploma. Most of
them worked in private company with average income 10,000-20,000 baht.
Besides that, the respondents ranked accommodation, attraction and
amenities as most important components of tourism destination. The respondents also
ranked evaluation of alternative stage as most important of decision making.
For the result of hypothesis testing, it revealed that demographic variables,
such as gender, age, marital status, occupation and income showed significant
differences on tourists decision making except education had no differences on
decision making. In aspect of components of tourism destination, accessibility and
activities had effect on tourists decision making. Finally, the researcher suggested
that there should be further research concerning this topic to be conducted at larger
tourists decision making in different parts of Thailand.
