Abstract:
This research aims 1) to create the demonstration of Antilock Braking System (ABS) interaction
with personal computer (PC), 2) to evaluate learning achievement and satisfaction of students to the
demonstration. The main component hardware is direct current motor 24-volt 500 watt 2500 rpm
to drive 4 independent wheels. During the test speed tests at 60, 70, 80, 90 and 100 kilometers per
hour (km/lu). Students are able to understanding the relationship between performance antilock
brake systems and wheel speed. The actuator and all necessary sensors are connected to PC
controller via the parallel port and serial port with no load on wheels. All responses signal of
actuator shows on a PC screen in real time with those speeds. After the demonstration had been
finished, to evaluate the quality of the demonstration. The experimental kit was evaluated by five
instruction media experts. The sampling groups were 30 students of Bachelor of Science in
Industrial Education in Mechanical Engineering, department of Mechanical Technolgy Education at
King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi. Statistics used in this study were mean,
standard deviation, and t-test. There were results showed that: I.according to evaluate the quality of
the demonstration, the result of the mean was in the good level (X = 4.36, S.D. = 0.47) 2. the
sampling groups have done pre-test, then, learned by using the demonstration and done post-test.
The result showed 49.44 percent of pre-test and 83.44 percent of post-test. The learning
achievement was analyzed by using t-test. It showed that the t-score from calculation is 23.663,
which compared with the t-score from the t-distribution table is 1.699 at 0.05 of significant level. In
conclusion, the demonstration is really able to improve the learning achievement of students.
3.according to the satisfaction of students, the result shows that the mean was in the very good level
(X = 4.50, S.D. = 0.58).
