The Study of Problem Conditions and Needs for Personnel Development of the Business Firm Officers at Surat Thani Institute for Skill Development Region 11
Abstract:
The purpose of this research was to study problem conditions and needs for personnel development
of the business firm officers at Surat Thani Institute for Skill Development Region II. The
researcher conducted the questionnaire to 325 sample population consisting of business firm
officers enrolling training sessions. The statistical analyses were percentage, means, and standard
deviation. The research results revealed that most of the respondents were married female with age
ranging from 31 to 40. Their educational backgrounds were bachelors' degrees, and they worked as
managers with monthly incomes ranging from 10,000 to 20,000 baht. The results from the problem
conditions in personnel development in business firms were found to be in the low level (x = 2.05).
As viewed by separated aspects, it was found that of curriculum was in the highest mean (X = 2.15),
promotion ex = 2.12), evaluation and follow-up (x =2.1 I), trainers (X = 2.0 I), and training project
management (x = 1.88), respectively. The need of personnel development of the business firms
were as follows: most of them desired to participate in the following training curricula: the training
curriculum, the curriculum on effective presentation techniques, and the potential development
curriculum of new generation division head, respectively. Most of the participants wanted Surat
Thani Institute for Skill Development Region II provided the training sessions by using internal
and external trainers, the duration within working hours ranging from 10 to 20 hours, and the
activities preferred to be the simulation.
