Abstract:
The objective in this study is for improving a remote-controlled lawn mower via android smartphone application and for testing the usability and performance of lawn mower controls through android application. This research studies about the theory of lawn mower, motor, control devices and creating an android application. The research shows that the lawn mower controlled via android application is 80 cm wide; 100 cm long and 80 cm tall. The structure of the lawn mower consists of PVC tube installed with 1 HP electric motor, a board and Bluetooth module. The lawn mower is controlled by android smartphone application. For the result of lawn mower working system, the lawn mower cannot be controlled when it reached over 250 meters distance and can be moved forward, backward, leftward or rightward. The performance of grass cutting is around 150 square meters per hour. When compared with ordinary lawn mowers, the remote-controlled lawn mower is lighter and easier for using, unnecessary to be carried. The remote-controlled lawn mower is controlled via android smartphone application. Therefore, it will reduce fatigue and also decrease accidents from using lawn mower
