Abstract:
The study of parameters affecting the production of hydrogen by electrolysis
method with objectives 1. To design and build a series of experimental production of
hydrogen gas plate rectangular and octagonal plates. 2. To study the variables that
affect the efficiency of the rectangular and octagonal hydrogen plates The researcher
has specified the distance of stainless steel sheet into 3 stages which are 2, 4 and 6
millimeters and specifies the scope of experimental evaluation. To study various
variables that affect the production of hydrogen gas by controlling the voltage at 10,
12 and 14 Volts respectively. The researchers used distilled water mixed with sodium
hydroxide as a solution. With the ratio of one liter distilled water mixed with 0.5
mole sodium hydroxide.
From the results of the experiment at the rectangular hydrogen gas generator
The best results are obtained at a distance of 2 millimeters, a voltage of 14 volts
which uses an electrical current of 8.02 amperes. It can produce 16 liters of hydrogen
per hour. As for the octagonal plate hydrogen gas generator The best results are
obtained at a distance of 2 millimeters, a voltage of 14 volts, which uses 7.57
amperes of electricity, which can produce 14 liters of hydrogen per hour. Therefore,
the researchers can indicate that the parameters that affect the production of
hydrogen gas include voltage, current, distance of stainless steel plates, resistance
values. This variable affects the production of hydrogen gas by electrolysis method.
