Findings of the study revealed that although there is a positive influence on the family
relationship between the parents and students in higher education level, it does not
adequately explain academic performance among students in this study. Both the
multifaceted nature of parental support and different measurements of academic
achievement have probably contributed to the inconsistencies. The present study was
an attempt to inform college administrators and educators of the importance of
parental support at the university level.
