Abstract:
Currently SME businesses in Thailand are expanding rapidly and the growth of various businesses heightened competitions throughout. At present we brought in technologies
to enhance competitiveness and efficiency or to emphasize distinctive individuality, uniqueness of various activities. iTAP (Industrial Technology Assistance Program) is a
program under government provision aimed to assist SME businesses in various industries through incorporation of technologies and effectively drive business efficiency.
This program is considered to be an important mechanism for NSTDA to drive technology up to production level which is a direct knowledge transfer from field expert to
dealers/merchants. However, the reason which prohibits dealers/merchants in achieving full success is due to dealers/merchants themselves failing to correctly evaluate their
business capability resulting in over 50% of the participants who experienced undesirable result. Hereby, this research aim to study the success of 3 dealers/merchants
participated in iTAP program in Southern Thailand and other 27 dealers/merchants that are currently under this program. The study will include methods and justification of
participants when participating in iTAP program, expertise of consultant, factors which influence programs' success or failure, benefits for dealers/merchants including views
from project managers and ITA. Personnel who concluded that dealers/merchants who wish to participate in the program must have clear objectives and define problems. Must
have efficient personnel and funding while ITAP should provide personnel with expertise and available time in order to achieve full success.
