Abstract:
In the face of current speedy revolution of high technology, Hard Disk Drive (HDD)
manufacturing technology has rapidly improvement for build new product support
market need and customers satisfy. That is effect to manufacturing machine has often
development and change to new technology. Therefore the advance technology transfer
becomes one of the main influence factors for drivers to increase productivity
effectiveness in a firm or even in a country. In order to compete in the global
environment, the ability and effectiveness of acquiring new technology are essential for
firms. This paper study the complicity of influential factor of high precision
manufacturing machine technology transfer in Hard Disk Drive (HDD) manufacturing
between a HDD manufacturer and high precision automation manufacturing machine
makers.
From study inter-firm technology transfer methodology of this case, this paper facing
appropriated technology transfer is occurring through combination between Collaborate
R&D and Turn-key by using meeting mechanism, on the job training mechanism and
documented.
From study influence factor of inter-firm technology transfer by linked 4 basics factor:
Industrial factor, Personal factor, Organization factor and Technology factor this paper
facing most influence factor is technology factor and Personal factor.
This paper concludes with a discussion of an effectiveness technology transfer model
for high precision automation manufacturing machine technology transfer based upon
theoretical reviews, surveys and studies ofhard disk drive manufacturing in Thailand.
