Abstract:
This research aimed to study and compare the need for internal supervision of basic education schools under Surin Primary Educational Service Area Office 1, classified by gender and academic standing. The sample group was 339teachers. The tool using in this research was a questionnaire featuring a five-point rating scale, having a reliability of .90. The statistics using in the research consisted of percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The statistic using for finding the tool efficiency was coefficient alpha. The t-test and F-test were used for hypothesis testing; the Scheffes test for pairwise comparisons was also employed. The research finding revealed that was at a high level in the overall; when considering each aspect it found that the aspect that earned the maximum score of the mean was teacher orientation; next was organizing special services for students; and the aspect that earned the minimum score of the mean was arranging seminars for the teachers stationing at the school. In comparing the need for internal supervision of basic education schools under Surin Primary Educational Service Area Office 1, classified by gender, there were no differences in the overall; but when considering each individual aspect it found that there were statistically significant differences in four aspects-namely, instructional system management, facility provision, and learning measurement and evaluation-at the .05 level. Classified by academic standing, it found that there were statistically significant differences in the overall at the .05 level; but when considering each individual aspect, it found that there were statistically significant differences at the 0.5 level in six aspects-namely, instructional system management, personnel system management, facility provision, material procurement, orientation for new teachers, and learning measurement and evaluation.
