Abstract:
The purposes of this quasi-experimental research were: 1) to develop Piagets cognitive
theory-based instruction to enhance critical thinking skill for Prathomsuksa 6 Students and 2) to
compare between the students critical thinking skill before and after learning through the
developed instruction. The sample included 17Prathomsuksa 6 students from Chatrasuksa School
obtained by classroom-based cluster random sampling. The research instruments involved lesson
plan and 4-multiple choice critical thinking skill test. Data were collected in the 2nd semester of
academic year 2013, and statistically analyzed in MEAN, standard deviation and t-test.
The findings revealed as follows.
1. The Piagets cognitive theory-based instruction was composed of 1) principle/concept
2) objectives 3) learning activities and 4) learning outcomes.
2. The students critical thinking skill after learning through the developed instruction
was higher than that before the experiment at significance level .05.
