Abstract:
This research aimed 1) to develop an adjusted multiple criteria decision
making method, 2) to compare the efficiency of the adjusted method under 36
simulation scenarios using tests based on two factors: criteria and alternatives, 3) to
develop an application suitable for choosing a homestay accommodation, and 4) to
rank the homestay accommodation selected by tourists in the Andaman area by
adjusted multiple decision making methods. Data were collected from 400 tourists.
The results were as follows: 1) adjusted SVNSs TOPSIS were developed as a
way of ranking alternatives under many criteria, with the calculation of all five steps
accomplished by applying Mahalanobis distance spacing, 2) adjusted SVNSs TOPSIS
were found to have greater efficiency than SVNSs for MCDM (statistically significant at
the .05 level), and the range of the relation closeness coefficient for adjusted SVNSs
TOPSIS was less than SVNSs, 3) the developed application for choosing homestay
was appropriate at a high level, and 4) the ranking of homestay choice in the
Andaman tourism industry by the developed application showed an efficiency of
adjusted SVNSs TOPSIS better than that for SVNSs for MCDM
