Abstract:
The purposes of this research were to develop the criteria for selecting
words from information technology context, to development the Information Technology
Words Bank System for undergraduate students, to develop an information technology test
for undergraduate students, and to examine the differential item functioning of the
information technology test for undergraduate students with IRT-LR method. The research
process was divided into four phases: 1) research synthesis for the development of the
criteria for selecting information technology words, 2) development of the Words Bank
System delivered through a web application, 3) develop of a multiple-choice test with four
choices, and the test quality analyzed by Lertap5, and 4) examination of the differential
item functioning with IRT-LR method using IRTPRO.
It was found that;
1. The selection criteria for information technology words were composed of
four aspects: 1) unambiguous words, 2) non-jargon words, 3) common words, and 4) nonvague words.
2. The Information Technology Words Bank System was presented on a web
application, collecting 203 information technology words with a proven quality.
3. The information technology test for undergraduate with 40 items had Difficulty
values (p) between .27-.90, the classification value (r) between .22-.68, and the reliability at
0.88.
4. The results of the analysis of differential item functioning of the information
technology test for undergraduate students with IRT-LR method demonstrated that 31
different item functions (DIF), representing 77.50 percent.
