Abstract:
The purpose of this researchwereto1) study the metacognition level of mathayomsuksa 3 students2) compare students with high, medium, low mathematics learning ability with to metacognitive level and 3) find the ways to develop metacognition of mathayomsuksa 3 students. The samples in the study weremathayomsuksa 3 studentsat yangtaladwittayakarn school of academic year 2019 There are 102 students. The instruments for data collection were Metacognition tests, semi-structural interview, form Self report and And interview forms for the development of metacognitive. The statistics used in the study were percentage, arithmetic mean. By using the test scores for metacognition of the IPST.And T-score is used to determine the level of metacognition and mathematics learning ability of Somnuek Phatthathani.
The results revealed that : 1) Most of the students had quite low level of metacognition (40.20 percent) followed by quite high level (23.53%), high level (21.57%) and low level (14.71%)
respectively. 2) Mathematical ability to calculate Fequal to4.216 with p - value equal to .018 which is less than .05 shows that different mathematical abilities affect the examination score of test takers.3) Guidelines for the development of student metacognition found that to give students has a higher level of metacognition the teacher must give students are involved in learning management, give independent of thought, train students to express themselves in thinking and aware of one's own thinking.
