Abstract:
The purposes of this research wereto :1) study state of administration for promotingself -discipline of students,2)compare teachers opiniontoward state of administration for promoting self -discipline of studentsdistinguish bygenders and school size; and 3)study guidelines of administration for promoting self -discipline of students in school underBuriramPrimary Educational Service AreaOffice 1.The studywasdivided into2phases.Phase 1studied and comparedthe opinions of teacher concerning the state of administration for promotingself -discipline of students. The samples consisted of 322 teachers,selected by using theTable of Krejcieand Morgan.Proportional Stratified Random Sampling technique was also employed according to school size.The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire with reliability value of 0.926. The data were analyzed by usingpercentage, mean and standard deviation.The hypotheses were testedby usingt-test and one-way ANOVAanalysisof variance and multiple comparisontest (Scheffes Method).Phase 2 studied administration guidelines for promoting self -discipline of students.The informants were 6 experts selected by purposive sampling.The instrument was a semi-structured interview form and the data were analyzed by using content analysis.
The research results revealed that:
1. State of administration for promoting self - discipline of students under Buriram Primary Educational Service Area Office 1,according to the opinion of teachers, in overall andeach aspect,was at a high level.
2. The comparison of state of administration for promoting self-disciplineof students under Buriram Primary Educational Service Area Office 1,according tothe opinion of teachers classified by genders, in overall and each aspectwas found statiscally significant differences at the .05 level, and classified by school size, in overall and each aspect was also foundwith statiscally significant differences at the .05 level.
3. The guidelines of administrationfor promoting self -discipline of students under BuriramPrimary Educational Service AreaOffice 1,according to the opinions of experts revealed that1) In responsibility aspect,school should analyze problems and causes of promoting students responsibility procedure and compare the results of the procedure with the set objectives, 2) In termsof determination aspect, school should compare the results of promoting determination and patience of the students with the set purposes and problems and their causes should be analyzed ;and 3) For compliance with the regulations aspect, school should analyze the problems and the causes of promoting students compliance with schools regulation procedure.Also, the procedure should be adjusted accordingly.
