Abstract:
This research shows the inspection of varying thickness of specimens using radiographic test. The
purpose is to find the proper method to test the specimen which has the different thickness. The
aluminum stepped wedge thickness between 4-32 mm is used in experiment. The energy level at 90
kV shows the best result. The single film, medium speed, is used for the first technique. It shows the
result of the density which is varied from the thickness of 10-22 mm. The single film, low speed, is
used for the second technique. It shows the result of the density which is vary from the thickness of
11-21 mm. The double, medium speed films show the result of the density which is varied from the
thickness of 11-27 mm in the third technique. The fourth technique used double films consist of
medium speed and low speed with the low speed exposure show the. result of 11-22 mm and 23-32
mm. The last technique, the same materials like the fourth technique but medium speed exposure,
shows the density which is varied from the thickness of 4-8 mm and 10-22 mm. In conclusion, the
fourth technique is in effect because it shows the best density. However, the density at some points
is not acceptable.
