Development of criteria for assessing the success of entrepreneurs investing in agricultural and food processing businesses of small and medium enterprises (smes) in the sakaeo special economic zone
Abstract:
The objectives of this research were to develop criteria and online program to
evaluate the success and to compare the success of entrepreneurs in the investment in
agricultural and food processing businesses of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in line
with the SaKaeo Special Economic Zone with entrepreneurs in the investment in agricultural
and food processing businesses of SMEs at Thailand-Cambodia bordering provinces by using
Man-Whitney U test.
The results of the research wereas follows: 1. Criteria for evaluating the success of
entrepreneurs in investment in agricultural and food processing businesses of SMEs in accordance
with the Special Economic Zone of Sakaeo, consisting of 5 aspects (15 indicators, 45 criteria for
consideration) namely 1) product (3 indicators), 2) distribution (3 indicators), 3) capital (3 indicators),
4) experience (3 indicators) and 5) planning strategies (3 indicators). It can classify the level of
success of entrepreneurs in investment in agricultural and food processing businesses of SMEs in
line with the Sakaeo Special Economic Zone into 5 levels: level 1 (urgentlyneeding improvement)
to 5 (excellent). 2. the success of entrepreneurs in the investment in agricultural and food
processing businesses of SMEs in line with the Sakaeo Special Economic Zone online evaluating
program is appropriate to be used. And 3. the result of the success of entrepreneurs in the
investment in agricultural and food processing businesses of SMEs in line with the Sakaeo Special
Economic Zone withentrepreneurs in the investment in agricultural and food processing
businesses of SMEs at Thailand-Cambodia bordering provinces showed that entrepreneurs in the
investment in agricultural and food processing businesses of SMEs at Thailand-Cambodia bordering
provinces (Buriram, Surin and Sisaket province) had a greater success than Sakaeo province with
statistical significance at the level of .01. These showed that criteria to evaluate the success of
entrepreneurs in the investment in agricultural and food processing businesses of SMEs in line with
the SakaeoSpecial Economic Zonehad good quality, reliability and had concurrent validity.
