A study of factors affecting the teachers and staff on the implementation of quality assurance ofschools under the sakaeo provincial administration organization
Abstract:
The study aimed 1) to study the level of participation of teachers and staff on the implementation of quality assurance of schools under the Sakaeo Provincial Administration Organization, 2) to study the level of knowledge, understanding of the leadership, and attitude of school administrators toward the quality assurance of schools under the Sakaeo Provincial Administration Organization, 3) to study personal factors affecting the participation of teachers and staff on the implementation of quality assurance of schools under the Sakaeo Provincial Administration Organization, and 4) to analyze relationships of knowledge, understanding of leadership, and attitudes toward quality assurance and the participation of teachers and staff in the implementation of the quality assurance of schools in Sakaeo Provincial Administration Organization.
The research approach in this study was a quantitative research that uses survey methodology. The data was collected by a rating scale questionnaire. The sample consisted of 274 of teachers and staffs of schools under the Sakaeo Provincial Administration Organization. The validity and reliability of this assessment tool was conducted based on the 30 Cronbachs alpha formula. The result of reliability of assessment tools was .923 and index of item-objective congruence was .89. Descriptive data analysis included frequency, percentage, Mean, Standard deviation, and quantitative data was analyzed by t-test, F-test, Least significant difference (LSD). Correlation test was made with Pearsons correlation coefficient test at .05 significant levels. SPSS software was used for analyzing data and running statistical tests. This study reports that most of respondents are female rather than male. Their ages was between 36 and 40 year old. Most participants were master degree graduates. They have more than 20 years of work experience. Sample were teachers, heads of a department, deputy directors and academic affairs. The teacher and the staff have the highest level of knowledge and understanding of quality assurance. Each school can further set their indicators and criteria apart from the criteria setted by the Office for National Education Standards and Quality Assessment (ONESQA). This study reports that the quality assurance in education help create knowledge, skills and confidence for teachers and staff at the highest level. Also, teachers and the staff have leadership in quality assurance in education at the highest level. And implementation of quality assurance for the school in the Sakaeo Provincial Administration Organization was the highest level. Development and improvement of quality assurance in school, evaluation, assessment and quality assurance of education, quality assurance of education planning, and implementation of quality assurance activities, were at the highest level, respectively.
The results of hypothesis testing on personality factors indicated that sex, age, education level, work experience and position of the sample affects how they may devote for the implementation of quality assurance of their schools under the Sakaeo Provincial Administration Organization, differently. The report of a correlation revealed that knowledge, understanding, attitudes and leadership toward the quality assurance of schools correlated with implementation of quality assurance of schools in the Sakaeo Provincial Administration Organization. It was found that the knowledge, understanding and attitudes toward quality assurance in the schools had a positive correlation with the implementation of quality assurance, quality assurance of education planning at the highest level, and leadership on quality assurance in education was positively correlated with the implementation of the quality assurance of schools. The development and improvement of quality assurance had the highest correlation.
