Abstract:
The purposes of this research were to study outpatients behavior in using the services of the Phuket Municipality Hospital and to study the marketing mix factors affecting the outpatients behavior in using the services. The independent variables were personal factors, the outpatients behavior in using the services, and the marketing mix factors. The dependent factors were the marketing mix factors affecting the outpatients behavior in using the services of the Phuket Municipality Hospital. The sample consisted of 400 outpatients of the Phuket Municipality Hospital. Questionnaires were used to collect the data using a convenience sampling method.
The data was then analyzed and results shown as frequencies, percentages, means, and standard deviations.
The results found that most respondents were female, aged between 31 to 40 years old, and married. They completed bachelors degrees, worked as employees in government positions, and earned between 15,001 to 20,000 baht per month. Regarding their behavior, most of them used the services of the Medicine Department. Most of them used the welfare medical expense provisions of their organizations. The reason for choosing the service was because the hospital was near their home or their work. Many of them came to use the outpatient service between 08.00 AM to 12.00 AM and their medical fee was from 501 to 1000 baht per visit. They made the decision to come to use the outpatient service by themselves and their source of information was acquaintances.
