Abstract:
This study investigated factors that affected the inspection of substation construction. The purposes are exploration and determination
of factors including: 1) Coordination and communications between inspectors of Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) and contractors; 2)
Attitude, duty, and responsibility of PEA inspectors; 3) Knowledge, performance, and experiences of PEA inspectors; 4) Construction
drawing, and contract of project; and 5) Contractors working operation. The data of this study were collected by means of questionnaire
from 31 PEA staff with substation construction works experiences. It was found that the group with experiences less than 5 years and
the group with experiences 5 years or more both considered the factor 3) Knowledge, performance, and experiences of PEA inspectors
and factor 4) Construction drawing, and contract of project as most important factors, respectively. The guidelines to resolve problems
addressed in the inspection process was also addressed in this study.
