Abstract:
Objectives of this research are 1) To identify the factors that can determine the construction module of external-wall, i.e. brick-wall and
precaste-wall prequalification factors which include objective factors and subjective factors; and to determine their weights from the
viewpoints of Consultant, Contractor and Designer by using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). 2) To develop a guideline for choosing
the construction module of external-wall, i.e. brick-wall and precaste-wall with more reliability comparing to the original method. The
advantage of AHP is that it can measure subjective factors. This research can be summarized into 3 points.
1.The most important factor for deciding to design external-wall in the viewpoint of Consultant, Contractor and Designer is quality of
work process. That will cost more budget. Their weights are 12.7 , 11.5 , and 10.7 percent respectively.
2.The factors that Consultant, Contractor and Designer disagreed are a) Controlling the details following the architecture pattern
(Consult = 4.2%, Contractor = 4.1 %, Designer = 8.8%) b) Changing the pattern will have an effective to the construction
(Consult = 8.1%, Contractor = 4.1%, Designer = 4.8%) c) The expenses for modification during the construction (Consult = 7.6%,
Contractor11.3 %, Designer = 8.1%). From the analysis, shows different working process will have different weight of the factors.
3.The research proposed the way to use the weight from the research to determine building external-wall which collected to the
standardization and it can be used with the Expert Choice 11 program.
