Abstract:
The main purpose of this study was to study the effects of the Growth Mindset program in upper secondary school students. The sample was 70 students of Banchangkranchanakulwittaya School, Rayong in the 2017 academic year. The sample was randomized by using simple random sampling into two groups. 35 students were assigned into
an experimental group, and another 35 students were put into a control group. The research instruments were 1) Growth Mindset program, 2) mindset assessment scale , and 3) evaluation form for investigating the change of behavior mindset. There were 2 phases in collecting the data. These were comparing the growth mindset scores between the experimental group and the control group, After the experiment, the collected data was analyzed by the use of Independent t-test to compare the growth mindset scores received between before and after the experiment, For the experimental group, the collected data was analyzed by the Dependent t-test.
The research findings were summarized as follows:
1. The post-growth mindset score of students in the experimental group was higher than the one received from students in the control group, and this study reports a significantly difference at .05 level.
2. The post-growth mindset score of the students participating the Growth Mindset program was higher than the pre-growth mindset score, which was significantly difference at .05 level.
The results indicated that the growth mindset program could help develop growth mindset of students in experimental group showing a higher score than those in the control group.
