Abstract:
This research aimed to investigate the factors that affect internet cafe owners acceptance of the GoodNet project in the
western region. Data collection was done through stratified sampling and proportional allocation in each stratum. The
calculated sample size was 148 persons. The data were analyzed by using frequencies, percentages, averages, standard
deviations and variances. Canonical correlation analysis was also employed to seek independent variables that affect the
5 levels of dependent variables: acknowledgement, being persuaded, making decision, application and insistence. It was
found that no factors revealed the effect on the acceptance of the GoodNet project in managing their internet cafe at the
level of being persuaded whereas others were highly accepted -- these were acknowledgement, making decision,
application and insistence. At the level of acknowledgement, the factors affecting the owners acceptance were income,
experience, attitude, commercial establishments and service condition. At the level of application, the factor found was
commercial establishments. At the level of insistence, the factors discovered included knowledge attainment and regulations
for members.
It was concluded that the owners of the internet cafe accepted that the GoodNet project was good, but it could not build
motivation or sounded interesting for them to attend in the project.
