Abstract:
The objective of this research were to examine alcohol dependence women behavior. The result
will be used to set up preventive direction for alcohol dependence syndrome women by using qualitative
research and in-depth interview as well as participated and non-participated observations collect the data. The
survey was conducted with fifty four key informants. The data collection started from March 2015 to October
2015.
The result showed as follows:
1. The alcohol dependence women had alcoholic family member as social role model. The
socialization made for positive value alcohol drinking as normal life style. When they started drinking and were
satisfied with its taste and then they continuously drink alcohol and became alcohol dependence eventually.
When they faced health problem they asked for counseling and joined treatment program. The faith of religious
principles could stop drinking behavior for the next time for a long time. By the time they were able to consider
about their life and self-esteem as well as no longer see alcohol drinking merit. Ultimately they were able to
stop drinking completely.
2. The positive and negative effects of women alcohol dependence on physical, mental health,
social and economic, which were positive effects will be immediate after drinking but negative effects in the
long term.
3. The preventive direction for alcohol dependence is to add more accessible channel for health
service system of women in the risky group in order for them to receive care and support. In addition the caring
and support system for such alcohol dependence women should also be developed to prevent potential serious
impact in the future.
The research recommends that the finding and screening alcohol dependence women in the risky
group classification should be clearly defined. In addition the health service accessible channel should also be
added. The system to promote self-esteem for alcohol dependence women should be developed. Develop of
education to change attitudes and values into towards alcohol drinking.
Suggestions for further research should be studied. The next research should take qualitative study
in alcohol dependence women with psychological problem, for example, major depressive disorder. In addition
the study should identify the factors which enhance alcohol dependence women and risky group to access
health service system.
