Abstract:
Shipbuilding and repairing industries support water transportation and commercial shipment. To select the most suitable contractor, quality, duration, limited labors and budgets need to be considered. The Analytical Hierarchy Process was applied to choose a contractor for a particular Shipbuilding company. This research aimed to study concerned factors for choosing the most appropriate contractor based on the collected data and AHP analysis. The questionnaire was design to evaluate factors and compare contractors. From a survey, there were five important factors; cost, duration, quality, after-sales service and service mine. This research ranked the contractors order based on the analysis of AHP and Expert Choice software. The results showed that quality is the most significant factor for selecting a contractor in this case study. Contractor A receive the highest score at 0.376 point. The second order was Contractor D with 0.278 point. Contractor B and C received scores at 0.188 and 0.15 points respectively
