Abstract:
The purposes of this independent study were to increase the competitiveness of Thai ready-to-wear clothes by focusing on problems of time in delivery, analyzing business process along with lead time, and to improve production process. Data were collected by interviews and observations of real practice in company's production process. It was found that: 1) Company lack data connection within the organization. The forms of management and data collection retarded planning and decision. 2) Work flow was not balanced due to raw material input delay. 3) Quality of raw material was not up to standard because company did not enact an agreement on raw material quality with raw material providers. Solutions were as follows: 1) As for data management, information technology system could be applied to plan organization resources so that data connection and exchange is fast and efficient. 2) As for raw material, the requisition should be done one day in advance in order to reduce time in requisitioning and to emphasize on production planning. 3) As for quality of production process and company operation, training and staff exchange so that each learn and operate in every
step of production process skillfully and is able to operate instead of others. Moreover, the writer would like to suggest for further studies the following comments: 1) There should be an agreement on time and raw material quality between company and raw material provider. 2) There should be product stock system. 3) Pull system should be applied to reduce work piece problem during production.
