Abstract:
The purposes of this study were to compare students English reading comprehension before and after using Literature Circles as well as to explore students satisfaction towards learning through Literature Circles. The population were 13 students of Mattayomsuksa 2/5 (grade 8) who had enrolled English reading and writing course (Eng 20203) in 1st semester of academic year 2016 at Srinagarindra the Princess Mother School, Phayao. The research instruments of this study were 1) 5 lesson plans based on Literature Circles which covered 10 hours, 2) English Reading Comprehension test, 3) Students Satisfaction Questionnaire towards Literatures Circles which was administered before and after using the treatment. The data collected were analyzed using mean, standard deviation and percentage calculated by SPSS computer statistical analysis program for Windows. The result of this study revealed that students English Reading Comprehension increased after learning through Literature Circles and students were satisfied with Literature Circles and would like to take part in another Literature Circles. The result was as following; The study revealed that students English Reading Comprehension increased after learning through Literature Circles.
