Abstract:
This research aimed to study state, problems of teaching staff of MEP schools in Phayao. The sample of the study were 30 English teachers and 3 administraors in Anubanphayao School, Phayao. The data were collected by using quantitative method, and instrument used in this study was a questionnaire and analyzed by using percentage, mean and standard deviation, and were then presented in tables. The results of study are as follows: 1) State of teaching English of staff in Anubanphayao School, Phayao was high with details as follows: Administration sector. There were follow-up procedures for duty performance of teacher and staff, a clear administrative structure and job description. Instructional sector. The learning management focused on the learner-centered process and good values to encourage the learners to be confident in speaking English. 2) Problems in the teaching English of staff in schools in Phayao areas that was usually found were many teachers need to learn about teaching techniques or activities that fit the students. Teachers also need to learn about the skills to use technology such as computers, internet and students also lacked of motivation and the awareness of importance of English. "
