Abstract:
A cross sectional study aimed to determine the factors associated with quality of life of cancer patient with palliative care in hospitals, Chiang Rai province, Thailand. The participant was registered in the continuity of care in hospitals in Chiang Rai, Thailand among 110 cases. The study between July and September 2018. Data were collected by a structured questionnaire (EORTC QLQ-C30). Both descriptive and inferential statistics were employed in data analysis. Chi-square test and Spearman correlations were applied for the test association. The study found that, the quality of life of cancer patient with palliative care was a moderate level. ( = 54.32, SD = 21.86) The education level and position of cancer was associated with quality of life of cancer patient with palliative care statistically significant at p-value <0.05. In conclusion, the quality of life of cancer patient with palliative care has many factors that affect the quality of life which daily life, caregiver and self-reliance. The important were the symptoms of the disease. So various position of the disease has different symptoms. The continuity of care service has to develop the follow-up system by a focus on to increases the skill of the caregiver. Besides good quality of life, it can prevent bedsore in a patient who cannot help themselves. Palliative care was a focus on alleviating symptoms of illness. The palliative care was supported the patient to has a good quality of life at the end of life before they passed away.
