APPROACHES FOR DEVELOPMENT OF TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP TOWARDS PROFESSIONAL LEARNING COMMUNITY OF SCHOOLS UNDER SECONDARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE 5
Abstract:
The purposes of this study were 1) to study transformational leadership towards professional learning community of schools under secondary educational service office 5; 2) to present approaches for development of transformational leadership towards professional learning community of schools. The research Framework of transformational leadership by Bass and Avolio (1994) consisted of 1) Idealized Influence, 2) Inspirational Motivation, 3) Intellectual Stimulation, 4) Individualized Consideration and research framework of professional learning community by synthesis consisted of 1) Goals, vision, and the mission of school to development for student; 2) The Development Promotion of quality education that focusing on improving the quality of the students and teachers to be professional; 3) Promoting the participation of those involved, and working together as a team; 4) supervision, monitoring and evaluation towards professional learning community to reflect the performance. Instruments used were questionnaire. The sample were devired from the stratified random sampling method. Respondents, consisted of 55 administrators and 275 teachers. Statistics used for data analysis included frequency, percentage, average, standard deviation and t-test. The results of the study were as follows: (1) The state of transformational leadership towards professional learning community of schools under secondary educational service area office 5 according to the executives aspect was excellent. (2) The guideline to develop transformational leadership towards a Professional Learning Community consists of 1) studying and analyzing of the necessary in development, 2) assessing performance before development, 3) developing understanding and awareness of the importance of development, 4) using various development approaches, 5) self-development, 6) developing by building a professional learning community through method of advising and coaching, 7) organizing training and development workshop, 8) supervising and monitoring leaders performance, 9) organizing exhibitions or seminars to present the performance.
