Abstract:
The objectives of this research were (1) to study the quantity and implementation of self- contained classroom management in grade 1-3 of the elementary schools in Bangkok area. and (2) to analyze possible variables that effects the self- contained classroom management in grade 1-3 of those schools. The samples used in this study included 216 elementary teachers who have worked in schools under The Office of The Basic Education Commission (OBEC), Department of Education Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), and Office of The Private Education Commission (OPEC). The research instrument used was the questionnaire. The data was analyzed by using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, T-Test, and analysis of variance (ANOVA). The research findings were as follows: 1. Based on the surveyed samples, there were only 14.4% of the elementary schools in Bangkok areas that have administered self-contained classroom management in 1st 3rd grade classrooms. The overall of self- contained classroom management was in a high level (mean= 4.24). The class management was the highest (mean = 4.40), followed by homeroom and student counseling (mean = 4.20, 4.19). The lowest level was teaching (mean = 4.18). 2. The variance that effected the self - contained classroom management were sex, school size, schools agency, teachers room, extra duties, the training of integrative learning, and the knowledge of child development.
