Determination of silver (I) in seafood samples by ultrasonic extraction method
Abstract:
In this work, the optimum condition for the extraction of Ag (I) in seafood samples by ultrasonic extraction method was studied. The optimum conditions for ultrasonic extraction method were 25 mL of deionized water as extraction solvent, extraction time of 15 minute, temperature of 25 Celsius degrees and 2.0 g of wet fish meat. The Ag(I) extracted was reacted with 8-quinolinol and detected by UV-visible spectrophotometry at 305 nm. Under the optimum conditions, the limit of detection and limit of quantification were 0.21 and 0.71 mg per L, respectively. The relative standard deviation (percent RSD) in terms of repeatability and reproducibility were in the range of 6.48-7.34 percent and 5.58-9.55 percent, respectively. The recoveries were in the range of 80.73-82.94 percent. The calibration curve was linear in the range of 1.00 - 3.50 mg per L with R2=0.9923. In addition, the amount of silver ion contaminated in seafood samples of 14.32-34.93 mg per kg was found in this study
