Abstract:
The study aims to acquire the management expectations towards the construction foremen in Chiang Mai and Larnphun including the current status of the foremen skills. The study has assorted the foremen skills into three types; personal skill, technical skill and management skill. After a literature review was conducted, significant information were collected and used to develop a questionnaire. Data collected from 41 sampling projects and computed by using the SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) for Windows, Version 11.0 were divided into 3 groups less than 10 million Thai Baht, 10-100 million Thai Baht and more than 100 million Thai Baht.Research results show that the management places expectations towards foremen skills in priority as follows: 1) personal skill 2) technical skills and 3) management skills. In addition morality in occupational practices, operational cost awareness and understanding about project objects are significantly expected in the areas of personal, technical, and management skills, respectively.
