Abstract:
Menu-driven navigation and key word search as the methods for searching the WWW are not sufficient for successful information access. This paper presents the naturallanguage processing (NLP) module for an intelligent web robot, an agent who searches and provides specific information from the Internet. The paper focuses on the linguistically motivated method of determining the focal point of users' queries by extracting the meaning of verb and its argument(s) in each clause. Word segmentation is applied to Thai sentences which have no space between words before sentence processing. The predicate-argument structure is a technique for answer matching process. Ranking answer is carried out before generating the results to the users.
