Abstract:
The objective of this particular research is to analyze the strength of the derrick crane by using Finite Element Method: with the prototype creation and this was capable to transmit the conceptual format out, in the form of 3-Dimensioned work piece. The derrick crane structure was analyzed in two ways called the strength analyses of derrick crane was originally designed. The analysis result was to develop and to remedy. And the strength also analyses a new design of derrick crane. The variety of derrick crane contains the jib length by 30 meters. It is efficient to weight more than 3.5 tons object, from the 29 meters lifting horizontal span, and it is capable to weight the object at the maximum 8 tons, from the 5 meters lifting horizontal span, with the 240 degrees rotation. This derrick crane structure was made of the steel st52.
The results of derrick crane category one contains the maximum Von-mises Stress dispersion relatively constantly. The maximum Von-mises Stress value occurred is lesser than the Yield Strength value ( y) of the object. While considering the Safety Factor of the entire analysis. The figured out that the least value of its safety factor (N), or the design check, of the derrick crane was 2.0.
