Abstract:
The purposes of this research were: 1) to study the efficiency of the activity packages entitled Chemical of Life using 5E Learning Cycle for Matthayomsuksa 4 students to meet the criteria set at 80/80; 2) to compare the students' achievement between before and after learning through the activity packages entitled Chemical of Life using 5E Learning Cycle for Matthayomsuksa 4 students; 3) to investigate the effectiveness index of learning through the activity packages entitled Chemical of Life using 5E Learning Cycle for Matthayomsuksa 4 students; and 4) to study the students' satisfaction toward learning through the activity packages entitled Chemical of Life using 5E Learning Cycle for Matthayomsuksa 4 students. The samples were 36 students studying in Matthayomsuksa 4/1 at Bankruatwittayakarn School of Bankruat District, Buriram Province, under Buriram Secondary Educational Service Area Office 32 in the second semester of academic year 2016, selected by using simple random sampling technique. The research instruments included 1) 9 sets of the activity packages entitled Chemical of Life on Chemical of Life using 5E Learning Cycle for Matthayomsuksa 4 students; 2) 9 lesson plans using 5E Learning Cycle; 3) 30-item, 5 multiple choice achievement test with the difficulty between 0.36 to 0.78, the discrimination between 0.53 to 0.91 and the reliability of 0.91; and learning through 4) 16-item of5 - level rating scale questionnaire asking students' satisfaction on the activity packages. The statistics for data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation, E/E2 and E.I. The hypothesis was tested by using dependent samples t-test.
The findings were as follows:
1. The efficiency of the activity packages entitled Chemical of Life using 5E Learning Cycle for Matthayomsuksa 4 students was 85.31/84.07 which was higher than the criteria set at 80/80
2. The students' learning achievement after learning through the activity packages entitled Chemical of Life using 5E Learning Cycle for Matthayomsuksa 4 students was higher than before learning with the statistically significant difference at the level of .05.
3. The effectiveness index of learning by using the activity packages entitled Chemical of Life using 5E Learning Cycle for Matthayomsuksa 4 students was 0.6906 which indicated that the students' learning achievement increased 0.6906 or considering as 69.06 %.
4. The students' satisfaction towards learning through the activity packages entitled Chemical of Life using 5E Learning Cycle for Matthayomsuksa 4 students as a whole was at the highest level.
