A COMPARISON OF THE LEARNING ACHIEVEMENT INSOCIAL STUDIES ELIGIONS,CULTURAL STRAND AND CREATIVE THINKING OFPRATHOM SUKSA FIVE STUDENTS LEARNING BY CIPPAMODEL AND THE CONVENTIONALINSTRUCTION
Abstract:
This research aimed to compare the learning
achievement in Social Studies, Religions Cultural Strand and
creative thinking of Prathom Suksa Five students taught by
CIPPA MODEL instruction and the conventional Instruction.
The Samples were 48 students at Sawaengha Kindergarten
School in the second term of the academic year 2004, selected
by the Simple Random Sampling technique. The students were
drawn and divided into 2 classes. Then they were drawn again
as the experimental group and the controlled group, each group
comprised 24 students. The CIPPA MODEL was taught to the
experimental group according to the following steps : 1)
Reviewing of the existing knowledge, 2)Pursuing for new
knowledge, 3) ata/knowledge interpretation / transfering to the
existing knowledge, 4) Knowledge exchange, 5) Summarizing
and categorizing knowledge, 6) Practicing/Presentation, and 7)
Knowledge application. The Conventional instruction was done
to the controlled group according to the following process : 1)
Introduction, 2) Teaching, 3) Conclusion and evaluation.
Teaching and learning were conducted in the period of 19 hours.
The instruments comprised a set of summative tests and creative
thinking with Pretest-Posttest Design, and the data were
analyzed by t-test for independent samples.
The results were as follows:
1. Difference in learning achievement in Social
Studies, Religions and Cultural Strand, between the

experimental group and the controlled group was revealed at
the statistical significance of .05.
2. Difference in creative thinking between the
experimental group and the controlled group resulted at the
statistical significance of .05.
In conclusion, teaching and learning Social Studies,
Religions, Cultural Strand, and creative thinking via the CIPPA
MODEL resulted higher level in learning achievement .
