Abstract:
The objective of this article is to study on influence of dissimilar welding properties of carbon steel SS400, Stainless Steel AISI 304 and Stainless Steel SUS304 in MIG welding by robot. This is to find out the factors that use the robot arm to weld different materials which provide the best welding results. There are the following determinants for welding process, MIG welding process with 6-axis robot arm, three welding currents 100, 110 and 120 A are being used, There are 6 levels of welding speed from 4-9 mm/sec, When tested according to variables set. The testing for tensile strength, hardness and microstructure check. The results showed that Deep penetration Width and
integrity of the weld varies with the speed of welding and welding current. The most completed welding method between stainless steel SUS304 and stainless steel AISI430 Ferrite is a welding speed of 7 mm/sec. The welding current 120 A can be archived tensile at 15.05 KN. There was a damaged found at Ferris AISI430 side when tested for tensile strength. Microstructure investigation revealed the
complete integration of welding with stainless steel AISI430
