Abstract:
In this thesis, we present a configuration management system (using Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM 2012 R2)) for a large computer laboratory at Faculty of Informatics, Burapha University. Our goal is to troubleshoot the sluggish labs computers, and to reduce the time to manage and install softwares in the laboratory. We have analyzed the problems that slowed the computer down (i.e., CompatTelRunner, Runtime Broker and Superfetch Services). When the processes are killed, the computers ran a lot of faster. For managing softwares in the computer, we use SCCM 2012 R2 for 1) deploying the softwares, 2) installing Windows 10, 3) updating Windows 10, and 4) updating Windows Defender antivirus software. We also deployed a total of 8 software packages. All are deployed successfully. (The deployment time depends on the size of the software.) We also installed Windows 10 operating system with a file size of 3.66 GB via SCCM 2012 R2 on all 59 PCs, with only 42.56 minutes.
