Abstract:
This study attempts to 1) to study attitude, motivation, and participation of personnel in Chon Buri Provincial Administrative Organization toward 5-S activity; 2) to study attitudes of personnel in Chon Buri Provincial Administrative Organization toward 5-S activity; 3) to study motivation of personnel in Chon Buri Provincial Administrative Organization toward 5-S activity; and 4) to study the participation of personnel in Chon Buri Provincial Administrative Organization toward 5-S activity. This qualitative study applied semi-structured questions for in-depth interviews. The questions were from reviewing concepts, theories, and related research studies. Researcher applied open-ended questions in order to provide opportunities for interviewees to express their thought and suggestions. Content analysis were applied by observing the repetition of words or synonyms in each question. The conclusion was shaped with research questions. The findings are as follows: 1) For attitudes of personnel in Chon Buri Provincial Administrative Organization, 16 from 16 interviewees or 100 per cent reveal that the attitude on knowledge and understand reached the highest scores. 15 from 16 interviewees or 93.75 per cent had the attitude on emotion, feeling and behavioral attitude. 2) For motivation of personnel in Chon Buri Provincial Administrative Organization can be summarized that 15 from 16 interviewees or 93.75 per cent paid respect on motivation toward 5-S activity. 14 from 16 interviewees or 87.50 per cent had work achievement as the motivation in doing 5-S activity. 12 from 16 interviewees or 75.00 per cent had career advancement as the motivation in doing 5-S activity. 8 from 16 interviewees or 50.00 per cent had current work description as the motivation in doing 5-S activity. 3 from 16 interviewees or 18.75 per cent had responsibility as the motivation in doing 5-S activity. The results from the participation of personnel in Chon Buri Provincial Administrative Organization are as follows: 15 from 16 interviewees or 93.75 per cent participated in 5-S activity and earned the benefit from the activity. 13 from 16 interviewees or 81.25 per cent participated in making decision on 5-S activity. 11 from 16 interviewees or 75.00 per cent participated in evaluating 5-S activity. All in all, problems, obstacles and suggestions to improve 5-S activity were found in the study as expected.
