Abstract:
This paper presents the condition assessment for Diesel Generator from the performance of sub-components and systems of the generator such as 1) fuel system, 2) lubrication system, 3) cooling system, 4) battery system, 5) electrical system, 6) prime mover, 7) rotor, 8) stator, and 9) actuator. Each systems consists of sub-components. The condition assessment depend on the deterioration of sub-components and systems under the assessment factors such as age, operation condition, symptom, failure consequence and environment and safety. Using analytic hierarchy process to determine weight values. Each group is evaluated individually such as 1) sub-components, 2) factors, and 3) systems of the generator. Then scoring sub-components under the assessment factors to find the percentage of point. The percentage of point earned is calculated for percentage of health index of systems. The percentage of health index to be calculated is percentage of equipment performance index of sub-components. By evaluating the diesel generators from 50 different locations, it appears that different generators and different locations have different effects. The condition were 1) very good, 2) good, 3) fair, 4) poor, and 5) very poor condition, which can be taken into consideration for the maintenance and helps to reduce the cost of the change at all new parts
