Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to examine a level of public participation in a project for developing agriculturalists in the area of agricultural land reform located in Amphoe Bo Thong, Chon Buri Province. Also, this study intended to compare the level of public participation as classified by gender, age, educational level, amount of monthly income, marital status, group membership, and major sources of supportive funds. The subjects participating in this study were 287 agriculturalists taking part in a project for developing agriculturists and have been registered as agriculturalists in the area of agricultural land reform in Amphoe Bo Thong. Chon Buri Province. The instrument used to collect the data was a questionnaire. The statistical tests to analyze the collected data included frequency, percentage, means, standard deviation, t-test, and F-test. The results of the study revealed that the majority of agriculturalists were male, aged 46 onwards, holding an elementary school certificate, having an amount of income lower than 15,000 baht, being married and a member of agricultural group, receiving a major financial source from land reform fund. Based on the results from the three trainings for developing agriculturalists, it was shown that one-third of agriculturalists attended the trainings. Also, it was found that the level of participation of agriculturalists was at a high level. Based on the results from the comparisons, no statistically significant differences were found in the level of participation in the project among the subjects with different gender, age, educational level, amount of monthly income, marital status, group membership, and sources of supportive funds.
