Abstract:
The purpose of this study was threefold. First, it aimed at examining behavioral safety at work among employees working for an electronic manufacturing company located in Chonburi Province. Also, this study intended to investigate a level of knowledge and understanding of behavioral safety at work among these employees. The third purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and understanding of behavioral safety at work and work behavior of these staff. The subjects participating in this study were 230 employees working for an electronic manufacturing company located in Chonburi Province. The instrument used to collect the data was a close-ended questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed by Statistical Packages for the Social Sciences. The results of this study revealed that the level of knowledge and understanding of behavioral safety at work among the subjects was found at an inadequate level. Regarding their work behavior, the subjects demonstrated at a good level. When considering each aspect of behavioral safety at work, it was shown that work behavior of these subjects was found at a good level. Also, regarding the use of equipment and tools, it was found at a very good level. While the subjects rated their work environment at a good level, they rated the overall management at a very good level. Finally, no statistical relationship was found between knowledge and understanding of behavioral safety at work of these staff and their work behavior.
