Abstract:
The chemical investigations from the branches of Millettia leucantha by chromatographic separation afforded nine pure compounds. They were two chalcones (A and G), five flavones (B-F) and two isoflavones (H and I). All known structures were elucidated on the basis of 1D (1H, 13C NMR and DEPT) and 2D NMR (HMQC, HMBC, COSY and NOESY) methods. Pure compounds B, C and E were evaluated for antifungal activity against Pythium insidiosum. The results showed no antifungal activity. Furthermore, all structures were tested antioxidant activity by using ABTS and DPPH methods. Unfortunately, they showed antioxidant activity with an IC50 value of >200 g/mL.
