Abstract:
The purpose of this research is to study the relationship of social characteristics, economy,population and learning methods with learning achievement and attitude of undergraduate studentsin the field of computer science, King Mongkut?s University of Technology Thonburi.The population was grouped by stratified random sampling. The sample population consisted of 201undergraduate students from the faculty of Engineering (Department of Computer Engineering),Industrial Education (Applied Computer Science-Multimedia), and Information Technology. Thequestionnaires were used to obtain the data on social characteristics, economy, population, andlearning methods together with the results from computer science courses offered by the 3 faculties.Percentage, mean, standard error (S.E.) and canonical correlation analysis were used to analyzedthe data.The findings reveal that the variable which was most affected is the learning achievement .The attitude in learning was not been much affected. The independent variables which affected thedependent variable on learning achievement are the current grade point average (G.P.A.) and takingtutorial courses . As for the attitude, the independent variables are relative age compared to siblings, number of siblings who are studying, reading study materials and completing assignments.
