The Development of Instruction Model by Using the Constructivist and CIPPA-based Instruction Model for Developing Critical Thinking Ability of Prathomsuksa 6 Students
Abstract:
The purposes of this quasi-experimental research were : 1) to develop constructivism-based instruction with CIPPA Model to enhance critical thinking for Prathomsuksa 6 students and 2) to compare critical thinking of Prathomsuksa 6 students between before and after learning through the developed instruction. The methodology was divided into 3 parts, i.e., 1) development
of instruction 2) design of research instruments and 3) the experiment. The sample included 43 Prathomsuksa 6 students from Watthongpleng School obtained through cluster random sampling. The research instruments involved 1) lesson plans and 2) test of critical thinking. Data were collected in the 1st semester of academic year 2011 and were statistically analyzed in MEAN, standard deviation, t-test and content analysis.
The findings revealed as follows.
1.The components of constructivism-based instruction with CIPPA Model to enhance critical thinking for Prathomsuksa 6 students delineated 1) theory/principle/concept 2) learning objectives 3) learning activities with 6 processes : 1. introduction and revision 2. using schema
3. Exchange of knowledge 4. Presentation 5.summary and revision and 6. Knowledge application and 4) learning outcomes.
2.The critical thinking of Prathomsuksa 6 students after learning through the constructivism-based instruction with CIPPA Model was higher than that before the experiment at significance level .01.
