Abstract:
The purposes of this study were 1) to develop difficult word spelling exercises of Thai subject for grade 2 students to meet the criteria 80/80; 2) to compare the students achievement before and after using difficult word spelling exercises of Thai subject for grade 2 students; and 3) to investigate the satisfaction of the students on the constructed exercises. The samples of the study were 36 students studying in grade 2 at Anuban Buiram School, Muang District, Buriram Education service Area Office 1, in the first semester of academic year 2010; selected by purposive sampling. The research design was the one-group pretest-posttest design.
The research instrument consisted of :1) Twelve skill exercises of difficult word spelling exercises of Thai subject for grade 2 students; 2) twelve learning plans used along with the difficult word spelling exercises of Thai subject for grade 2; 3) an achievement test as the pretest and posttest with 30 items; and 4) a rating scale questionnaire of 10 items to measure the students satisfaction to the skill exercises. The collected data were analyzed by using mean, percentage and standard deviation. The hypotheses were tested through the t-test. The results of this research were as follows :
1.The effectiveness of the constructed exercises was at 91.88/88.90, with was higher than the standard criteria set of 80/80.
2.The acheivement of the students posttest mean scores were higher than the pretest mean scores, with the significant deference at .05 level.
3.Students were satisfied with the difficult word spelling exercises of Thai subject for grade 2 students at the highest with the mean score of 4.81
