A study of differentiated instruction in vocational education institutions by applying multi-level supply model

Abstract: The objectives of research were to study differentiated instruction in Vocational Education Institutions (VEI) at Vientiane capital, Lao PDR, and to compare differentiated instruction of large, medium, and small size of VEI at Vientiane capital, Lao PDR. The participants included four groups: 1) 18 directors committee, 2) 18 academic officers, 3) 108 teachers, and 4) 120 students. The instruments included interview form, self-assessment form, and evaluation form. The data were analyzed by using content analysis, mean, standard deviation, percentage, and Oneway ANOVA. The results were as follows: 1. The context of VEI included good leadership, good situation, and good teamwork. For teacher characteristics, the results showed teachers’ skill were at good level (M=3.65-4.12), teachers’ attitude were at good level (M=3.97-4.43), and teachers’ knowledge revealed 69.33% of teachers passed assessment criteria while 30.77% fail. In addition, the organizing of situation for workshop place for students was good cover 72.22%, but the classroom context provided not enough facilities for instruction (94.44%), and the number of classrooms for students was not enough which cover 72.22%. However, the classroom processes of teachers were at good level (M=3.50-3.92). 2. The comparison between large, medium, and small size of VEI results showed that the context of VEIs overall showed no difference, but the knowledge of teachers was difference. There were difference between the knowledge of teachers in large size and medium size (Mean difference =1.22, P=.018), but the skills and attitude showed no difference. In addition, the comparison of classroom process and classroom context showed no difference.

Abstract: การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาการจัดการเรียนการสอนที่เน้นความแตกต่างระหว่างบุคคลในสถาบันอาชีวศึกษา นครหลวงเวียงจันทน์ ประเทศสาธารณรัฐประชาธิปไตยประชาชนลาว และเพื่อเปรียบเทียบการจัดการเรียนการสอนที่เน้นความแตกต่างระหว่างบุคคลในสถาบันอาชีวศึกษา ตามขนาดใหญ่ ขนาดกลาง และขนาดเล็ก นครหลวงเวียงจันทน์ ประเทศสาธารณรัฐประชาธิปไตยประชาชนลาว ผู้ให้ข้อมูล ประกอบด้วย 4 กลุ่มคือ 1) คณะผู้อานวยการ 18 คน 2) นักวิชาการ 18 คน 3) ครู 108 คน และ 4) นักเรียน 120 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยประกอบด้วย แบบสัมภาษณ์ แบบประเมินตนเอง และแบบประเมิน วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยการวิเคราะเนื้อหา ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน ร้อยละ และการวิเคราะห์ความแปรปรวนทางเดียว ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1. บริบทของสถาบันอาชีวศึกษา ได้แก่ ภาวะผู้นา สภาพการณ์ และการทางานเป็นทีมอยู่ในระดับดีทุกด้าน คุณลักษณะของครู ครูมีทักษะในระดับดี (M=3.65-4.12) มีเจตคติในระดับดี (M=3.97-4.43) และมีความรู้ ผ่านเกณฑ์ 69.33% ไม่ผ่านเกณฑ์ 30.77 % นอกจากนี้การจัดสถานที่เวิร์กช็อปให้กับนักเรียนเหมาะสมดี (72.22%) แต่บริบทห้องเรียนมีสิ่งอานวยความสะดวกไม่เพียงพอต่อการเรียนการสอน (94.44%) และจานวนห้องเรียนไม่เพียงพอกับนักเรียน (72.22%) อย่างไรก็ตามกระบวนการเรียนในห้องเรียนอยู่ในระดับดี (M =3.50-3.92) 2. การเปรียบเทียบระหว่างสถาบันอาชีวศึกษาตามขนาดใหญ่ ขนาดกลาง และขนาดเล็ก โดยภาพรวมไม่แตกต่างกัน แต่ความรู้ของครูแตกต่างกัน ระหว่างขนาดใหญ่กับขนาดกลาง (Mean difference=1.22, P=.018) นอกจากนี้การเปรียบเทียบกระบวนการเรียนในห้องเรียนและบริบทห้องเรียนไม่แตกต่างกัน
