Abstract:
The research of Adaptive Use of Cultural Resources for Tourism Development in Sanpatong District, Chiangmai Province, collected the data in both qualitative and quantitative method, aims 1) to study the potential of cultural resources in Sanpatong District, Chiangmai Province, 2) to study the potential of the community in cultural management for tourism in Sanpatong District, Chiang Mai Province, and 3) to suggest the guidelines in adaptive use of cultural resources for tourism in Sanpatong District, Chiangmai Province. The results revealed that the most potential in cultural resources in Sanpatong District, Chiangmai Province was the motivation, the second was the activity, and the least was the facility. In terms of the potential of the community in cultural management, the data were collected by interview and potential assessment. The result showed that the value of tourist attractions reflected the links among history, local lifestyles, the ruins, religious place, and ethnicity in Sanpatong District, Chiangmai Province. Regarding the potential assessment of the community in cultural resources management, the outcome revealed that the Doll Making Center in Baan Dong Khilek had the most potential in the motivation and the activity aspects. Vieng Ta Kan Ancient City, Baan Ta Kan had the most potential in the facility, the access and the management. The results led to the guidelines of adaptive use in cultural resources for tourism, focusing on applying the value of tourist attractions into the cultural tourism development.
