Abstract:
The purpose of this study was twofold. First, it aimed at examining a level of organizational commitment among personnel, working for Sa Kaeo Administrative Organization, Sa Kaeo Province. Also, this study attempted to compare the level of organizational commitment among personnel as classified by gender, age, educational level, amount of salary, work position and work length. The data were collected by a questionnaire, completed by 273 government officials and employees working for Sa Kaeo Administrative Organization. The descriptive statistical tests used to analyze the collected data included frequency, percentage, means, and standard deviation. The results of the study were as follows: It was shown that the level of organizational commitment among personnel, working for Sa Kaeo Administrative Organization, Sa Kaeo Province was found at the highest level. When considering each aspect, the one in relation to the personnels behavior was rated the highest, followed by the aspect relating to attitude, and social norms, respectively. Finally, based on the results from the comparisons, it was shown that male subjects, aged 41-50, holding an education lower than a bachelors degree, having a work length fewer than 1 year with amount of monthly salary less than 10,000 baht, being a government official and holding an administrative position, demonstrated a higher level of organizational commitment than other groups.
