Abstract:
This research aimed to study the fabrication of lead zirconate titanate (PZT) thick films on stainless steel substrates by screen - printing technique. In order to obtain the proper and printable ink composition for screen printing, ink was prepared and optimized its 0 0 ingredients. Screen - printed thick films were sintered between 600 C and 800 C to determine the sintering conditions for PZT thick films. The characterization techniques used in this study were XRn, SEM and Impedance Analyzer for electrical property. PFV ink formula is the optimum ink composition containing PZT powder, frit, terpineol and ethyl cellulose. The XRD pattern of PZT thick films .showed the pure perovskite phase after sintering at 600 - 650-c for 30 mins. From microstructures, it is evident that PZT 0 particles in thick film composition show a reasonable bonding and necking at 750 C 30 mins, however, the films seemed to bc not completely densified. PZT thick filrns with a thickness 6 - 8 pm showed a dielectric constant of 460 and dielectric loss of 0.05 at 1 kHz after sintering at 750 C for 30 mins.
